ESG Alert: As of September new regulations on greenwashing, the focus of the UOKiK’s attention

In the period from 29 July 2025 to 19 January 2026 the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) fi led greenwashing charges against seven large companies operating in Poland, and 27 September 2026 will be the effective date of the ECGT (Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition) Directive, introducing a strict ban on the most common pseudo-green marketing practices. Violations will be subject to high fines.
